Although the weather was as good as a Dutch late November day should be (gray, windy, and rainy), this weekend the GVC teams managed to do something unique – something that last occurred a long time ago in the rich history of our Student Football Club: none of the teams left the field unbeaten. Even more so, three teams won, whilst victory slipped through the hands of the star players of GVC1 in the final minutes of the game. And how undeserved that was!
After a rough start of the season, GVC1 and 2 are starting to show what there quality really is. In the last tree matches, GVC1 convincingly beat Randwijk1 (2-5), and drawed against the top ranked teams Oranje sc (5-5) and AFC Arnhem (2-2). GVC2 finally awared their good play with the second victory of the season (1-2). Definitively many more will follow. Looking at the position on the table, GVC3 is now the 2nd best team of GVC (due partly to a fully deserved 2-3 victory this weekend).
However, the true Herbstmeister is GVC Sunday. They were victorious this weekend with 5-0 and as a result obtained a firm mid table position with 16 points out of 11 matches. In previous years, GVC Sunday (with many members of the student association SSR-w) mainly excelled in the third half, now the team also shows to master the first two. Congratulations!
Hence, this weekend GVC obtained 10 out of 12 points. When o when will the seemingly impossible score of 12 out of 12 be reached again…?
